New Mexico Public Health Association Annual Conference

Public health is inherently poised to examine and address a wide range of issues through a cross-sectoral lens. It includes preparedness, often an overlooked aspect in public health programming. Not exclusively related to emergencies, preparedness can encompass social determinants of health, access and funding of services, mental and behavioral health, environmental and social justice, as well as disciplines from agriculture to zoonotics, and more. Thus, in the interest of furthering and sharing research, best practices, and innovative developments regarding public health preparedness in the 21st century, NMPHA welcomes abstracts on all related topics.

Included in the theme “PREVENTION, PLANNING, AND MITIGATION: PUBLIC HEALTH THROUGH A PREPAREDNESS LENS”, there will be four tracks on topics of special interest to promoting public health preparedness in New Mexico through access, outcomes, and knowledge.
