2023 Art Contest

Thank you to all who participated in our first NPHW art contest!

Art can play a big role in your health. Art as part of health management and treatment has been shown to help people with a variety of health concerns, including those experiencing mental illness. Art is also a part of our cultures. It promotes communication between and within communities, helping us learn and share our life experiences.

Following the theme of NPHW 2023, “Centering and Celebrating Cultures in Health,” we hosted our first art contest with the following prompt:

  • How has your culture shaped your health? This could include the foods you eat, how you choose to exercise, activities and hobbies you engage in, how you unwind and decompress, the traditions you have with your family and friends or your community. All these things can impact your health. Visually show us what these things are and/or how they’ve made you feel!

Congratulations to our 2023 winners!
